About Kensington Church

Kensington Church is a multi-campus community with locations across Michigan. Since its founding in 1990, the mission has always been to reach the ones farthest from God. The church strives to bring the transformative message of Christ to people who think the church is irrelevant. They want to be thought of as a church that moves out beyond our walls and into our community and around the world.

Name origin and meaning

When Kensington Church launched in 1990, the community met in a local Middle School auditorium on Kensington Road in Troy, Michigan.

What the church logo design represents

Kensington’s mission is to see every[one] transformed and mobilized by Jesus. The defining element in their logo is a bright chevron pointed towards a stylized numeral 1, visually reinforcing their commitment to reach the ONE. The parables of Luke 15 were the inspiration for their mission statement and logo treatment.

Meaning of the color

Mobilization, activation, energy.
